I have been at this spot near the bus stop on M I Road for a long time now. Most people just walk past while they are running to catch their bus, but some stop when they notice their watch has died. It is a small place here in Chandpole Bazar. My workbench is right by the front where the light is better. I spend most of my day looking through a magnifying glass at tiny gears and springs. The dust from the road gets everywhere, so I am constantly cleaning the glass counters. It isn't a fancy shop at all. There are some old clocks on the wall that don't always chime at the exact same time. Sometimes people come in just to ask for the correct time because the big clock outside isn't working right. I usually have tea around four in the afternoon when the traffic gets really loud and the buses are lined up. My father used to sit in this same chair years ago. He taught me how to hold the tweezers without shaking my hands. It takes a lot of patience to fix these modern watches because everything is plastic now. The metal ones were better to work on. I have boxes of old parts under the counter that I might never use, but I keep them anyway for a rainy day. The street noise is just part of the background now. I don't really hear it anymore unless someone honks right outside the door. It is just a regular shop doing regular work for local people.
