Out here at Plot No. 85 in the Karni Vihar area of Sodala, things stay pretty busy throughout the week. India Exports isn't located in one of those shiny new glass buildings you see in the city center; we are tucked away in the Murlipura Scheme. It’s a real working neighborhood. Some days the dust from the road gets into everything, and we just have to wipe down the desks and keep going. We handle a lot of the back-and-forth work that comes with sending things abroad. It’s mostly about tracking schedules and making sure the packing is done right. The office is a bit cramped because we use a lot of the space for storage and keeping records. Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded by boxes. My desk is right near the window, so I see the trucks passing by all day long. It gets noisy, especially in the afternoons when everyone is trying to finish their work at once. We don’t bother with much of a dress code here; it’s more about being comfortable while we move stuff around. If someone calls, they usually get one of us directly, not some machine. We know our way around the local streets and how to get things to the main transport hubs from here. It’s just what we do, day in and day out, without making a big deal out of it. We keep our coffee mugs full and the paperwork moving.
