Mukesh General Store

Mukesh General Store is located right in Pootli Village, which is part of the Kotputli Tehsil. Since we are near NH8 and the Delhi Road, there is always the sound of big trucks passing by in the distance. The shop isn’t very large, but we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. You’ll find things people in the village need every day, like soap, snacks, and small household items. The dust from the Delhi Road is a constant thing we have to deal with, so a lot of time goes into just keeping the place clean. Being out here in Pootli means we know almost everyone who walks in. It’s a lot of neighbors and people we’ve seen growing up. Mornings start with putting out the crates and checking what we’re running low on. Sometimes we have to head out to the main market to restock, but mostly we are right here behind the counter. It’s a simple way of living, watching the traffic on the highway and helping people get their daily supplies. We don't have any fancy displays, just the wooden racks that have been here for years. It gets pretty hot during the summer months, so we keep the fan going all day long. It's just a small shop doing its part in this little corner of the world along the highway. We just open up and wait for the village to wake up.
