The Pushkar Bagh Resort

We are located out on Motisar Link Road in Village Ghanehera Pushkar, which is just on the edge of the main town. The Pushkar Bagh Resort is a bit different from the hotels right in the middle of everything. It’s a bit more open out here in the village. We have more space than we would if we were near the lake. We are in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan, and the desert landscape is right there outside our gates. Running a resort in a village like Ghanehera means we have to be pretty self-reliant. We handle our own maintenance and look after the grounds as well as we can. The dust can be a real struggle, but that’s just how it is in this part of the country. We aren't a big chain with a lot of rules. We just run the place the way we think makes sense. Most of the people working here are from the surrounding villages. We’ve all grown up around here. When the Pushkar Fair happens, things get incredibly busy on Motisar Link Road. The rest of the year, it’s a lot quieter. We spend our days making sure the rooms are tidy and the paths are clear. It’s a lot of manual labor and practical work. We don't try to make it sound like something out of a magazine. It’s just our resort in the village.
