Mohit General Store

Mohit General Store is located on Hari Marg in the Civil Lines area. It’s a pretty straightforward neighborhood shop. We stock a bit of everything, from soap and biscuits to notebooks and pens. The shop is crowded with shelves reaching up to the ceiling. We often have to use a small stool to reach the stuff on the top rows. Civil Lines is usually a bit quieter than the main markets, but Hari Marg still gets its fair share of traffic. We open up in the morning and stay until late evening. The regulars are mostly people living in the nearby houses who realized they ran out of sugar or tea leaves. We have a small fridge for cold drinks and some milk. Sometimes the kids from the street come in after school for snacks. It’s not a supermarket; it’s just a small room filled with daily essentials. We handle the billing ourselves and sometimes have to write things down in a notebook if the power goes out. The shop has a big wooden door that we pull shut at night. It’s a simple life running a general store. We know which neighbor likes which brand of tea. There isn't any fancy decor here, just practical shelves and a lot of stock. We’ve been here long enough that the front step is a bit worn down. It’s just how things are at Mohit General Store. We keep a box of loose change right under the main counter for the smaller sales.
