Modi Sarees

Modi Sarees is located in Shop No. 74-75 on the 1st floor of Kanota House. It’s inside Maniramji Ki Kothi, which is along Haldiyon Ka Rasta in the Johri Bazaar area. That sounds like a lot of directions, but once you’re in Johri Bazaar, most people can point you toward us. The bazaar is always crowded and the air is thick with the smell of street food and old buildings. Our shop is a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s worth it to get away from the street noise. We have shelves reaching all the way to the ceiling, packed tight with different colors and patterns. We spend our time unfolding things and then folding them back up again. It’s a lot of manual work. We don't have a computer system that tells us everything; we mostly just remember where we put things. Sometimes we lose track of time because there are no windows in the main part of the shop. We’ve been in Kanota House for a long time. It’s an old building with a lot of character and some creaky floors. We enjoy the routine of opening up, greeting the neighbors, and seeing who stops by. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just show what we have and let people decide for themselves.
