Micromatic Engineering Industry

The workshop is located at C-41 in the Industrial Area of 22 Godam. This part of town has been an industrial hub for a long time, and you can feel it in the air. Our building is a simple shed with a high ceiling that helps keep it from getting too stuffy during the summer months. Inside, things are organized but look like they have been used for years. We have got our lathes and drilling machines lined up, and there’s always a project or two sitting on the floor waiting for the next step. We don’t use any polished scripts when we talk to people; we just tell them how long a job will take and what it involves. Working in 22 Godam means we are surrounded by other engineering shops, so we often borrow a tool or help a neighbor out if they are stuck. Our day usually starts with a quick check of the machines and a cup of tea. We spend most of our hours in oily overalls, making sure the parts we are engineering are sized correctly. The office is just a small partitioned space with a desk that’s usually buried under technical drawings and old receipts. It is a bit messy, but we know where everything is. We don't have a mission statement on the wall, just a clock that’s a few minutes fast and some photos of our families. It’s a practical place for physical work, and that is how we like it. We stay until the last job is done.
