About Mewar Hotel – Hotels, Motel & Resorts in Jaipur
If you go down Station Road near Sindhi Camp, you will see Mewar Hotel right there. It is a busy spot because the bus stand is so close. People are always coming and going with heavy bags, looking a bit tired from their travels. We have been here for a long time, watching the city change around us. The building has that old-school feel, with wide hallways and heavy doors. It isn't like those new glass hotels they build nowadays. We have some paint peeling in the corners and the stairs have been walked on so much they are a little smooth in the middle. Most days are spent checking people in or answering the same questions about where the next bus goes. The lobby has a few old chairs where people sit and wait for their rides. It gets dusty because of all the buses outside, so we are always wiping down the counters. The fans hum constantly to keep the air moving. It is a simple place for people who just need a spot to rest for a night. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just stay open, keep the lights on, and wait for the next traveler to walk through the door. The front desk is made of dark wood that has some scratches from years of people leaning on it. We keep a ledger there to track everything. Sometimes the phone rings and it’s just a wrong number, but we answer it anyway. It’s a bit of a slow life compared to the big hotels, but we like the pace on Station Road.
