Manoj Departmental Store is right here in Kartarpura, specifically in Jaswant Nagar. It's the kind of place where people come for their daily groceries and household stuff. We open up pretty early because that is when people need their bread and milk. It gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work. We have been at this spot for some time. The shelves are packed with whatever we can fit. Sometimes it’s hard to find things because we have so much stuffed into the aisles. Jaswant Nagar is a quiet area but the store stays noisy. We talk to our neighbors every day. It is more about the routine than anything else. We spend a lot of time checking expiry dates and putting new price tags on things. The floor gets dusty with people coming in and out, so we are always sweeping. It’s a small family-run thing. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. Just regular items that people use in their kitchens. Kartarpura has changed a lot, but we are still here. Sometimes we run out of things and people get annoyed, but we try to get it back in stock by the next day. It’s just honest work. We don't use computers for everything, sometimes it’s just a notebook and a pen. It works for us. We have a small stool by the counter where we sit when things get quiet.
