Alila Fort Bishangarh

This place is an old fort located in Bishangarh Village. You have to drive off NH-8 at Manoharpur to find the path up to us. It is a massive stone building sitting right on top of a hill. Working at Alila Fort Bishangarh is definitely a bit different from a normal office job. We spend a lot of our time walking up and down those old stone stairs. Because it is such an old structure, there is always something that needs a bit of a fix or some maintenance. The walls are very thick so it stays relatively cool inside, which is a relief in the summer. We have a lot of local people from the village working here in the kitchen and out in the gardens. It is a bit of a trek for any staff who do not live right in the immediate area. We do not use much fancy talk. We just try to keep the place looking decent and make sure the guests are fed well. It is a lot of history to look after every day. Sometimes you just stop for a second and look at the view from the top, and it is actually pretty nice. But mostly it is just hard work behind the scenes. We're just a team of regular people making sure the guests have what they need and the structure doesn't fall apart around us.
