Mangi Lal Kripa General Store

Mangi Lal Kripa General Store is over at 77-A Anand Vihar A, on Benar Road. We are near Dadi Ka Phatak in the Jhotwara area. It’s a residential part of the city, so we see a lot of the same faces every morning. The shop is a simple room with shelves lining every wall. We keep the most common things near the front so we don’t have to keep walking to the back. Benar Road can get quite congested, especially near the railway crossing at Dadi Ka Phatak. Our address in Anand Vihar A is easy to find if you know the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time organizing the small packets and making sure nothing is past its date. It’s mostly just manual labor, like unloading the rickshaws that bring our stock. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. The shop has a ceiling fan that clicks while it spins. Sometimes the dust from the road makes everything feel a bit gritty. We have a small wooden desk where we keep our accounts. It’s not a high-tech operation at all. We just open the doors and wait for the locals to stop by for their daily needs. The Jhotwara area is growing, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We just focus on keeping the shelves full and the floor swept. It’s a quiet existence for the most part and we like it that way.
