Maheshwari Tea Co Pvt Ltd is situated at F-47 in the Kartarpura Industrial Area. It’s not the kind of place you’d visit for sightseeing, as it’s surrounded by other factories and warehouses. The main thing you notice when you get close to our building is the very strong, earthy smell of tea leaves. We have a fairly large space where we receive big bags of tea and then get them ready for distribution. It’s a lot of manual work, and the environment is mostly metal shelves and concrete floors. The machines we use for packing can be pretty noisy, so we often have to shout to hear each other over the clatter. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. The office is just a small room in the corner where we keep the records and handle the orders. Kartarpura is a busy industrial zone, so there are always delivery vans and trucks coming in and out of the gate. We start our work early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. By the afternoon, the warehouse can get quite stuffy, but we just keep the doors open to get a bit of a breeze. It’s a straightforward operation where we focus on the product and getting it out the door. We’ve been at F-47 for a while, and we’re just another part of the industrial landscape here.
