Maharani Nagra Palace

Our little place is located at 48 Near Hawamahal Bazar, right on Hawa Mahal Road. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with all the people visiting the monument. We focus mostly on Nagras, those traditional Rajasthani shoes that have been around forever. We have them in all sorts of colors and some with very detailed stitching. The shop itself is tucked away and can be easy to miss if you are just looking at the palace. Inside, it smells like leather and old wood. We have been here for years, watching the tourists and locals walk by. It is a small family operation, and we don't have any corporate office or big marketing plans. We just open the shop, sweep the floor, and wait for people to come in. Some days it is very hot, and we just sit near the fan waiting for a breeze. The Nagras we sell are made by hand, so each pair is a little bit different from the next one. We tell people they might feel tight at first, but they will soften up once you walk in them for a few days. It is just a part of the local trade here in Jaipur. We like being so close to such a historic spot, even if the traffic is a headache sometimes. We just keep things moving along. Sometimes the rain comes in and we have to move everything back quickly. We don't mind much.
