Madhu Tea Traders

Madhu Tea Traders is located in the Uco Bank Building right in the middle of Chandpole Bazar. Working in such an old part of the city means you get used to the constant hum of the crowd and the smell of spices and street food. Our office is often filled with the scent of dried tea leaves because we have samples sitting out on the tables. The building itself is quite sturdy but you can tell it has been there for decades. We have sacks of tea stacked up in the corners, which makes the room feel even smaller than it is. Most of our day is spent tasting different batches and talking to people who come in from the market. The Uco Bank downstairs is always busy, so there is a lot of foot traffic past our door. Sometimes people wander in by mistake thinking we are the bank, and we have to point them toward the stairs. We have an old ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps the air moving. Chandpole Bazar is a maze of narrow lanes, and we are right in the thick of it. We don’t bother with fancy decorations or marketing. We just focus on the tea and making sure the inventory is correct. It is a simple life here in the bazar, and we like the routine of it.
