Madhu Tea Traders

If you walk down towards Shop Number 4/91 in Vidhyadhar Nagar, you’ll find us easily enough. Madhu Tea Traders is tucked in between a few other shops, and we’ve been here long enough that the door frame is a bit crooked. We mostly spend our time weighing out different types of tea and making sure the jars are full. It isn't a quiet place, especially when the morning deliveries arrive and everything gets a bit chaotic on the sidewalk. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes the boxes pile up faster than we can move them. The fans inside don't do much when it's really hot out, so we usually sit near the front to catch a breeze. People stop in to chat or just to see what’s come in recently. We don’t have a website or anything like that because we prefer just talking to folks face-to-face. Sometimes we run out of certain grades of tea and have to wait for the next shipment, which can be frustrating for everyone. My hands are always a bit stained from the dust, and the floor needs a good sweep every couple of hours. We just focus on getting the orders out to the local cafes and families who’ve been buying from us since we opened. It’s a small shop life, full of tea talk and old ledgers that are mostly filled with scribbles from busy afternoons.
