Le Meridien (Jaipur)

Being out in the RIICO Kukas Industrial Area means we are a bit far from the main Jaipur city. It’s a long drive if you are coming from the airport, but once you get here, it’s a big setup. The area is mostly factories and other industrial stuff, so we are like a little island at number 1. The sun out here is really something else, especially in the middle of summer. It gets so hot that you don't even want to step outside the shade. We spend a lot of time managing the space because it’s a large property. There are always weddings happening, which means lots of decorations and noise, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just make sure the rooms are ready and the halls are set up for whatever event is next on the calendar. It’s a lot of coordination between the kitchen and the front desk. Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when a big group arrives all at once, but we just push through it. The staff is mostly just regular folks from the nearby villages or the city who commute out here. We don't have a mission statement tacked to the wall, we just know what needs to be done before the next shift starts. It's practical work in a dusty part of the state. We just keep going.
