Krishna General Store

Krishna General Store is right in the heart of the old city at Chandpole Bazar 156. It is one of those spots where you can hear the bells from the temple and the horns of the rickshaws all day long. The shop itself is quite old and has high ceilings, but we have filled every inch of the walls with goods. We sell a bit of everything, like soap, snacks, tea leaves, and basic things people need for their homes. Being at number 156 means we have seen the bazar change a lot over the years, though the crowd stays just as thick as ever. People stop by on their way home from work to grab a few small items, and we know most of their names by heart. The mornings are usually spent checking the stock and talking to the delivery guys who struggle to park their bikes in the narrow lanes. It gets very bright in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the shop, so we pull out the old cloth awning to keep things cool. We do not use any fancy computers; we just write things down in our books and keep track of everything ourselves. It is a busy life in Chandpole, but it feels good to be part of the noise and the daily rush of the market.
