Krishna Beej Bhandar

We are at Johari Bazar 356. Our shop is full of seeds for all kinds of crops and vegetables. You can smell the earth and the dried husks when you walk in. Farmers come in from the surrounding areas to get their supplies for the planting season. We have big sacks of seeds lined up on the floor and smaller packets on the shelves. It’s a simple place. We spend a lot of time talking to the customers about the weather and which seeds are growing well this year. Johari Bazar is a hectic place to be, but inside the shop, it feels a bit more grounded. We don't have any flashy displays. We just know what is in each bag. Sometimes the supply from the bigger distributors is late, and we have to tell the farmers to come back next week. My family has been selling seeds here for a long time. We use old scales to weigh things out for the people who only need a small amount. The walls are a bit peeling and the lighting isn't great, but it works for what we do. We open when the market opens and stay until the evening rush is over. It’s just a steady life of measuring out seeds and helping people grow their food. There is usually some loose grain on the floor that we sweep up at the end of the day. It’s not much to look at, but it gets the job done for everyone.
