Kohinoor Dyeing & Tent Works

We are tucked away in Chandpole Bazar at Mishra Rajaji Ka Rasta. Our building, Kohinoor Chambers, is number 1145, and it’s always got something going on. Being in this part of town means it's crowded and noisy, but that’s the way we like it. We do a lot of dyeing work and handle tents for events. It’s messy work. There are often tubs of color or big rolls of fabric sitting around. We’ve been doing this for years, so we have a system that works for us. It’s not a clean, polished office environment. You’ll see spots of dye on the floor and heavy equipment for the tents. The street outside is narrow and full of life, which makes getting deliveries in and out a bit of a challenge sometimes. We know all the other shopkeepers around here. When someone needs a tent or some fabric colored, they know where to find us. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just take the fabric, dye it the right color, or pack up the tents for whoever needs them. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but it’s what we do. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time, and the Kohinoor Chambers name has stayed with the family. It's a simple, honest way to make a living.
