About Indus Furniture Designs – Furniture in Jaipur
We’ve been here at 80-85 Muhana Road for quite a while now. If you head towards Sanganer, you’ll find us easily enough. The shop isn't fancy, but it gets the job done. Mostly, the day starts with opening the shutters and clearing off some of the dust that settles on the wood overnight. There is usually a bit of noise from the saws in the back, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with furniture every day. People from around Muhana come in to look at what we’ve got on the floor. Sometimes it’s just someone looking for a small stool, other times it’s a family picking out stuff for a whole room. We don't spend much time on fancy displays or anything like that. We just try to make sure everything is sturdy and put together right. My cousin helps out with the deliveries, and sometimes the truck gets stuck in traffic on the way out of Sanganer, which is a bit of a headache. The wood smells good when it’s freshly cut, and that’s one of the things I like about being here. We keep ourselves busy with the orders that come in. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving heavy pieces around, but it keeps us on our toes. We don’t have any big sales pitches to give. If you need something for your house, you can just walk in and take a look around the workshop area.
