Khandelwal General Store

This shop is located on 80Ft Road in Mahesh Nagar. Being near Uco Bank makes it easy for people to find us when they are out doing their banking chores. We keep the usual general store items like pens, notebooks, some kitchen supplies, and snacks. It's a small space but we make the most of it. Jaipur summers are quite hot, so we usually keep the fan running high while we wait for customers. We have lived in this area for a long time and decided to open this store to stay busy. Every morning starts with cleaning the front step and checking what needs to be reordered from the distributors. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on the main road. Other times, three people come in at once wanting different things. We handle it as best as we can. We don't have any big signs or bright lights, just the name of the store above the door. It's mostly locals who stop in for a packet of biscuits or some washing powder. We don't try to be anything other than a neighborhood shop. If something isn't in stock, we tell them to come back in two days. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living and we appreciate the people who choose to buy from us instead of the big malls further away. It takes a lot of effort to keep things sorted, but it's okay.
