Khandelwal Fancy & General Store

Khandelwal Fancy & General Store is located at F-1/268 in Vaishali Nagar, over in the Chitrekut Scheme part of Jaipur. I’ve been running things here for a while now. Vaishali Nagar is a busy area and Chitrekut Scheme has grown quite a bit since I first opened the doors to the public. The shop has a bit of everything, which is why we call it a fancy and general store. We have those little things people need for their homes but also some nicer items. I spend a lot of time organizing the glass bangles and the small gift items we keep in the front display. The heat in Jaipur can be tough in the summer, but the store stays relatively cool under the shade. I handle most of the customers myself, and I’ve gotten to know the families around here pretty well over the years. Sometimes the kids come in after school to look at the toys or the snacks. I don't use a lot of fancy technology for my accounts; I prefer writing things down in my ledger. It’s a very local feel here. The shop isn't perfectly modern, and some of the wooden counters are getting old, but it works for us. I take pride in keeping the shelves stocked, even if it means staying late to check the boxes. It is just a regular shop in a busy scheme, trying to provide what the neighbors in Jaipur are looking for every day.
