Kalsan Engineering Industries Pvt Ltd operates out of VKIA Bindayaka on Sirsi Road 16. Our facility is a typical engineering workshop where the focus is on the machines and the metal. The ceilings are high and the walls are made of corrugated sheets that rattle when the wind picks up. Inside, it is usually quite loud because of the lathes and the fabrication work going on. We have a small office section partitioned off with some glass, but even there, you can feel the vibration of the factory floor. We started this because we liked building things and working with our hands, and that hasn't changed. There is always a layer of fine metal dust on the surfaces, and we all wear sturdy boots because there is always something heavy being moved around. We don't have a fancy showroom because our customers are more interested in the specs of the parts we make than how the office looks. On Sirsi Road, things are a bit spread out, so we rely on our regular transport guys to get everything where it needs to go. We keep a pot of tea going for the workers and the occasional visitor. It is a gritty, noisy place, but we take pride in the fact that we can fix or make almost anything that comes through our door.
