Jyotish Darpan

If you’re heading down to the station, you’ll pass the Navjeevan Complex. We’re inside there, specifically units 44 and 45. The business is called Jyotish Darpan. Being on Station Road means there’s always something happening. We get a lot of commuters who pop in because they saw our sign on their way to the train. The complex is an older building, so it has that lived-in feel. Our rooms aren't very big, but we’ve made them comfortable with some old rugs and enough light to read the charts. I’ve spent countless hours in these two rooms, looking at birth dates and planetary positions. It’s a lot of sitting and thinking. Sometimes the tea stall downstairs sends up a boy with snacks, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people telling their cousins or friends about us. It’s worked well so far. Navjeevan Complex is a landmark for most folks around here, so we don’t have to give long directions. We just tell them to look for the station and they’ll find us. We aren't trying to be the biggest consultancy in town. We just want to do right by the people who walk through our door. It’s a quiet life, even with all the noise from the station nearby. We just keep our heads down and work.
