We’ve been here at Shop No. 253 in Johari Bazaar for quite a long time now. It’s a busy place with people always walking past, and honestly, the noise never really stops. My father started things here, and now I just keep it going day by day. We spend most of our mornings opening up the shutters and dusting the glass cases before the sun gets too high. There are so many shops around us selling similar things, but we just stick to what we know. Most of the stones come in raw or semi-polished, and we spend hours looking at them under the light. Sometimes the chai wala comes by twice a day, and that’s when we take a small break. The shop isn't huge, but it fits everything we need. We don't really do big advertisements or anything fancy. People just find us while they are walking through the bazaar. It gets very crowded on the weekends, making it hard to even step outside for a minute. We have some old wooden drawers that hold most of the inventory, and they creak every time they open. It’s just a normal workplace for us. We handle the gems, talk to the people who wander in, and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad. That is pretty much how our life goes here in the middle of the market.
