Jiya Provisional Store

If you go to Laxmi Nagar, number 4 on Hatwara Road, you’ll find Jiya Provisional Store. It’s just a standard neighborhood shop where we sell things people use every day. We’ve got big jars of candies on the counter and bags of rice stacked in the corner. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but we know where everything is kept even in the dark. It’s usually just one of us behind the counter while the other is out back checking the stock. We get a lot of kids coming in after school for a little treat, which is always the loudest part of our day. The rest of the time it’s just quiet work, like sweeping the floor or refilling the oil tins. We don't have a delivery van, so people just carry their bags home or use their own scooters. It’s a practical business without any unnecessary frills. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we have to keep an eye on that during the monsoon. We don't bother with fancy displays; we just put the items out where people can see them easily. It’s been our livelihood for a long time, and we don’t plan on changing much. We just want to keep the shop running smoothly and make sure we have what the locals are looking for when they walk through the door. It's simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning to night.
