Jajoria Kirana Store

Jajoria Kirana Store sits on Sirsi Road in the Murti Nagar part of Meena Wala. Being in the 302021 area of Jaipur, we have watched the city change quite a bit from our front step. Our shop is a straightforward place where we keep the essential things people need for their homes. We have rows of jars filled with snacks and bags of flour stacked up in the corner. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually sit near the entrance to catch any breeze coming off the road. The Murti Nagar area is mostly full of families, so we see a lot of the same people coming in for their daily milk or a box of matches. We don't have a big staff, just us making sure the shelves don't stay empty for very long. Sometimes we lose track of time just talking to a neighbor who came in for one thing but stayed to chat for a while. It’s that kind of neighborhood. We do all the work ourselves, from counting the coins to hauling heavy sacks of sugar from the truck. The floor is looking a bit worn down these days, but that just shows how many people have walked through our doors. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Jaipur, just a place people can count on. It’s a lot of small tasks that keep us busy from early morning.
