Jaipuri Bandhej

Our place is tucked away in Naya Khera, not too far from the Jaipur G P O. It’s one of those parts of town that feels a bit older and has more character. We’ve been working out of this space for a long time, and honestly, the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to get around to it. The mornings are usually the quietest time, before the midday heat kicks in and the streets get crowded. We spend a lot of our day just checking over the stock and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it’s what we know. My father started this, and we’ve just kept it going the same way he did. We don't really use computers for much, mostly just keeping notes in old ledgers. It works for us, even if it’s a bit old-fashioned. People find us mostly by word of mouth or if they’re heading towards the post office. It’s not a big fancy showroom. It’s more of a workshop feel where you can see things happening. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and talk to the neighbors until it comes back on. It’s just how things are in this part of Jaipur. We like the pace of things here. It’s familiar and comfortable to us, and we just take each day as it comes.
