Jaipur Provision Store

If you’re walking down the Link Road in Bapu Bazar, you’ll see shop number 6. That’s Jaipur Provision Store. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot of stuff into it. We sell all the basics, like flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil. The bags are stacked up near the front so people can see what’s fresh. Bapu Bazar is a touristy place, but the Link Road is where the locals come to get their actual shopping done. We’ve been here for years, and the shop has stayed pretty much the same. The counter is made of heavy wood and has a lot of scratches from all the bags being dragged across it. We open early, usually before the main market gets too crowded. It’s nice to have that quiet hour before the tourists start arriving. We don't have any fancy marketing or big banners. People just know us because we’ve been at shop 6 forever. Sometimes the supply trucks are late, and we have to shuffle things around to make space. It’s a bit of a puzzle every time a new delivery comes in. We use a simple scale to weigh things out, and we still write down the accounts in those long red books. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for us and our customers. We just keep the shelves full and the floor swept so people can get their food.
