You can find us at A-16 in the Surajpole Anaj Mandi. This place is a traditional grain market, so it’s always dusty and full of activity. Jagdish Narayan Ratan Lal Singhal & Sons has been operating out of this spot for a long time. The name itself tells you it’s a family thing. We deal with the crops and the traders who come through the mandi every day. Early mornings are the busiest when the trucks arrive and the bidding starts. Our office is just a simple room with some old wooden benches and a big desk where we keep the accounts. We use those heavy registers to write everything down because that’s how it’s always been done in our family. The air smells like wheat and dried grain most of the time. There’s a ceiling fan that wobbles a bit, but it keeps us cool during the hot Rajasthan afternoons. We drink tea with the farmers and talk about the weather and how the harvest is looking this year. It’s not a quiet place. There are cows wandering around outside and laborers carrying heavy sacks on their backs. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on the people we’ve known for decades. It’s a simple life focused on the trade that happens right here in the heart of the grain market. We like the tradition of it all. The wooden door is heavy and squeaks a bit when you open it.
