Running a kirana store in Chand Bihari Nagar keeps me on my feet all day. Khatipura is a busy residential area, so there is always someone needing sugar, tea leaves, or some soap. I open up early in the morning before the kids head to school. They usually stop by for some biscuits or a small packet of chips. Sometimes I have to remind the delivery guys to bring the milk earlier. It’s a lot of work lifting heavy boxes, but it’s my own business. Chand Bihari Nagar is a quiet enough place once the main road traffic dies down. We just keep things simple here. If you need some spices for dinner or a new lightbulb, we probably have it tucked away somewhere on a high shelf.
