Hotel Rajputana

If you know the Sindhi Camp area, you know how busy it gets. Our place is right on Station Road, across from the Central Bus Stand. It’s a lot of noise 24 hours a day. You hear the buses reversing and the conductors shouting for passengers all night long. We’ve been running this spot for years. It’s a basic building. We don’t have those fancy lobbies you see in magazines. Mostly, travelers just stumble in from the bus stand looking for a cheap place to crash for a few hours before their next trip. The stairs are a bit narrow, and the lobby is just a small desk and a couple of plastic chairs. We keep the registers by hand. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to wait for the backup to kick in. It’s a bit of a struggle keeping the dust out with all those buses right there. My family helps out with the cleaning and the front desk. We aren't trying to be the biggest hotel in 302006, just a place that stays open. We see people from all over the country passing through. It’s a lot of work, and the building always needs some kind of repair. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the rooms are ready for whoever walks in next. It’s loud, it’s hectic, but it’s our life here. We just provide a place to stay near the station.
