Harivansh Kirana Store

Harivansh Kirana Store is sitting right at Ajmeri Gate Bhank Rota 8. It is a traditional grocery shop. We have big open bags of pulses, rice, and different grains sitting on the floor. The smell of spices is quite strong when you first walk in. We have been at Bhank Rota 8 for a long time and we know almost everyone in the lane. Our shelves are packed with everything from soap bars to packets of tea. We use a manual weighing scale for some items and a digital one for others. It is a bit cluttered, but we know exactly where everything is kept. In the mornings, there is a rush for milk and bread. In the afternoons, it gets quiet and we sometimes take a nap on the wooden counter. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People just know where we are. We keep a tab for some of the regulars who pay at the end of the month. It is how things have always been done here. Sometimes the supply truck is late and we have to tell people to come back tomorrow for their sugar or oil. We don't mind the long hours because this store is our life.
