Haridarshan Departmental Store

Our store, Haridarshan Departmental Store, is located at New Vidhyadhar Nagar 448, near the Jaipur G P O. It’s a decent-sized shop but it always feels a bit crowded because we try to keep so many things in stock. From lentils and rice to soaps and little toys for the kids, we have a bit of everything on the shelves. I spend most of my day behind the counter or moving boxes around. The morning starts early, around six, when the milk and bread deliveries arrive. It can be a bit chaotic getting everything put away before the first customers show up. We have a lot of regulars who live in the nearby flats and they come in almost every day. Sometimes we just chat about the weather or the local news. The shop isn't fancy, and some of the shelves are a bit crooked, but people don't seem to mind. We have been in Vidhyadhar Nagar for quite some time now and have seen many other shops come and go. It’s hard work, especially when you have to do the inventory and realize things are missing or expired. We don’t use any of those high-tech systems, just a simple register and our memory. It’s a long day, usually closing up late at night, but it’s a good life. We like being part of the community and helping the neighbors get what they need for their kitchens.
