Haldev Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our company is Haldev Farmer Producer Company Limited and we are based in Kolayat, which is in the Bikaner district. We actually run things from a space inside the Girdhar Vishwa Karma Dharmsala. It is a modest setup, but it serves us well for now. Being in Bikaner means we deal with a lot of dry weather and plenty of sand blowing around. We are a group of farmers who came together to form this company so we could have a bit more say in how our crops are handled. None of us are business experts with suits and ties. We are people who know how to work the soil and keep a tractor running. Our days are spent checking on the fields or sitting in the office trying to sort out the logistics of moving our produce. It can be a real headache when the prices drop or the rain doesn't come when it should. We don't have any polished mission statements or slogans. We just try to help each other out and make sure everyone gets a fair price for their hard work. The office is often full of people coming in to have a chat or share some news about the village. It is a very social way of doing business, even if it isn't always efficient. We’ve had to learn a lot about paperwork and rules as we went along. It’s been a bit of a struggle at times, but we are still here and we are doing our best for the local farming community.
