Gurukul Polytechnic College

Gurukul Polytechnic College is out on Sikar Road in Jaipur. The specific area is called Jahota. It is quite a drive if you are coming from the main city center. The college focuses on technical subjects and hands-on learning. We have several workshops and labs where the students spend most of their time. The air is always a bit dry and dusty out here. You will see a lot of students in their uniforms hanging around the canteen when they have a break between classes. The building is quite big and spread out over the lot. We have some open ground too, though it is not a manicured lawn. It is more of a practical place for young people to learn a trade. The instructors are usually found in the labs helping with machines or technical drawings. The road outside, Sikar Road, is a major one and is always moving with heavy traffic. Students travel here from all parts of Jaipur and even from the nearby villages. Getting here is straightforward because we are right on the main route. The office is usually stacked high with files and students asking about their exam schedules. We do not have any big corporate slogans or fancy mission statements. It is just a polytechnic. We show up, do the teaching, and the students get their work done. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons, so our water coolers stay very busy. It is just a regular institution.
