Guru Nanak Masala & General Store

Guru Nanak Masala & General Store is right here on Swarn Path in the Mansarovar area. It is a residential neighborhood, so things are usually a bit calmer compared to the main markets. Our store is a place where people stop by to pick up their daily needs. The air inside always smells a bit like turmeric and coriander because of all the spices we keep in the big jars. We have shelves lining every wall, packed with bags of lentils, packets of biscuits, and various household items. It is not a supermarket with bright fluorescent lights; it is just a regular store with a wooden counter and a scale that has been there for years. We spend most of our time chatting with the neighbors who come in for a loaf of bread or some sugar. We know most of the families around Swarn Path by name. Sometimes the kids come in after school to buy a small treat. The floor is made of old stone, and it stays relatively cool even when it is hot outside. We do not have a big team of people, just a couple of us who take turns watching the shop. We keep the inventory stocked and make sure the place is swept out every morning. It is a simple life and a simple business, right in the heart of Mansarovar. We just focus on keeping the jars full and dealing with whoever comes through the door.
