Gopals Textile Overseas

We are located at Natwara House on Old Amer Road. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit steep if you aren't used to them. Gopals Textile Overseas deals with all sorts of fabrics and cloths. If you walk inside, you’ll see stacks of rolls reaching almost to the ceiling. It smells like cotton and dye in here most days. We spend our time measuring out lengths of fabric and packing them for people who are often far away. We aren't a polished showroom with lights and mirrors. It’s a working warehouse where things get moved around constantly. My desk is buried under swatches and papers most of the time. We don't have a fancy way of doing things. We just listen to what the customer wants and try to find the right match in our stock. Sometimes we don't have it, and we just say so. There’s no use in pretending otherwise. The traffic on Old Amer Road is always loud, so we usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back to drown it out. It’s a family-run thing, and we’ve all learned the business by just being here every day since we were kids. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a long time and people know where to find us. It’s just us and the textiles, day in and day out. That’s how it is.
