Geetesh Kumar Meena

Geetesh Kumar Meena is situated in Village Dhand, which is part of the Amer Dhand area. Life out here is much different than in the main city of Jaipur. It is a lot greener and the air feels a bit cleaner, though it gets very dusty when the wind picks up. Our setup is quite modest because that is all we really need. We work out of a building that has been part of the village for a long time. Most of our day is spent interacting with the local people who live and work nearby. It is a small place where everyone knows everyone else’s name. We don't have a big sign or a fancy entrance. People just know where to find Geetesh when they need something. Sometimes we sit outside under the shade of a tree if the weather is nice. The pace of work here is steady but not rushed like in the city. We deal with whatever comes our way, whether it is paperwork or helping someone with a local issue. Amer is not too far away, so we get some visitors passing through occasionally. We use basic tools and keep our records in simple notebooks. It is a very traditional way of living and working. We are happy with the quiet life in the village. It is about being part of the community and doing our bit every day without any big fuss or complicated systems.
