Gangal Kirana & General Store

Gangal Kirana & General Store is out on Ajmer Road in the Gram Nasroda area of Jaipur. It is a bit further out from the main city, so the vibe is a lot more relaxed here. We are like the local pantry for the village area. We stock big bags of flour, cattle feed sometimes, and all the basic groceries like salt, sugar, and tea. The shop is a sturdy concrete building with a wide front. We usually keep some of the larger sacks sitting out on the porch so people can see what has just arrived. It gets quite dusty out here with the wind blowing across the open fields, so everything needs a good wipe every few hours. I usually sit out front on a plastic chair when it is quiet. People around here usually buy in larger quantities because they do not go to the market every day. We have a big old scale for weighing the loose goods. It is not digital, but it works just fine. The shop feels very much like a part of the community. People stop by not just to buy things but to ask about each other's families or the crops. We do not have any neon signs or fancy advertisements. Just a simple board with the name on it. It is a quiet way to spend the day, serving the people of Gram Nasroda with what they need.
