Ganesh Engineering Works

Out on Road No 9F-3 in the VKIA area, it gets incredibly hot, especially in the middle of the day. Our workshop, C-734, is one of those places where the doors are always wide open to catch any breeze. Ganesh Engineering Works has been sitting here for years, and the walls are covered in the kind of grime that only comes from working with metal day in and day out. We have old lathes and drills that have probably seen better days, but they still cut true if you know how to handle them. The air is usually thick with the smell of burnt oil and the sound of grinders hitting steel. We don’t have a lot of frills. There’s an old desk in the corner where we keep the bills, and that’s about it. Most of the time we’re out on the floor, getting our hands dirty and figuring out how to fix a broken bracket or mill a new part. We drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade of the roof. People around here know us for being straightforward. If we can fix it, we tell you. If we can't, we tell you that too. It’s just a basic engineering shop in a dusty part of Jaipur, doing what needs to be done. We stay busy and keep our heads down.
