We are located on Amer Road, right in the Khawas Ji Ka Bagh area. If you are heading towards the fort, you probably pass us. This area is always full of tourists and local buses, so it is quite loud. We have been working with rugs for a long time here. The building is old and has a lot of character, though the walls could use a bit of paint. We have rugs piled up everywhere, from the floor to almost the ceiling. It smells like wool and old wood inside. Most of our days are spent unrolling these rugs for people to see or packing them up for transport. It is heavy work and gets quite hot in the summer months. We have a couple of fans that we keep running all day. We are not a corporate office; we are just a family business trying to keep the tradition going. My father started this, and now we just keep at it. We do not have a website that we update or anything like that. We just open the doors and see who comes in. The dust from Amer Road is a constant battle, so we are always cleaning. It is a simple life, surrounded by patterns and colors. We know the other shop owners on the street well. We often share a meal or some news during the slow hours. It is just how things are done here in our part of Jaipur.
