Drawing Section

Down here in Jaswant Nagar, things move at a certain pace. Our spot, Drawing Section, is tucked away in Khatipura. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't looking for it, but that’s fine by us. We spend most of our time inside dealing with whatever comes across the desk that day. The walls are covered in bits of paper and notes we’ve scribbled over the months. Sometimes it gets a little cluttered, but we know where everything is. The light comes in through the side window in the afternoon, which is nice until it hits the computer screens. There’s a tea stall not far from here where we usually get our mid-day fix. You get used to the sounds of the neighborhood after a while—dogs barking, kids playing down the lane, and the occasional truck backing up. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. Some of the floorboards creak when you walk over them near the back office, but you stop noticing it after the first week. We’ve had the same furniture since we moved in. It’s sturdy enough. People in Khatipura generally know who we are, even if they don’t always know exactly what we’re working on inside. We just show up, do the hours, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a simple setup but it serves its purpose for what we do every day. We like the quiet and the way the shadows fall in the evening.
