Dinesh Provision Store

Dinesh Provision Store is located at number 4 in Shyam Nagar, Sodala. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. Every inch of the walls has a shelf or a hook for something. We’ve got lentils, spices, snacks, and the fridge for cold drinks. The address is simple, just number 4, right in the heart of the neighborhood. People from the nearby flats come in all day long. Usually, it's for something small like a pack of biscuits or a liter of milk. We know which neighbors like which brand of tea. The street outside can get a bit tight when cars are parked on both sides, so it’s mostly foot traffic. There is a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there are no customers. The light inside is a bit yellow and one of the bulbs flickers if it rains. We don't bother with fancy displays. We just put the new stock in front and move the old stock back. Sometimes the kids come in after school and spend a long time deciding which candy to buy with their coins. It’s a lot of standing and reaching for jars on the top shelves. We stay open pretty late because someone always needs something for dinner at the last minute. It’s just a basic neighborhood store where we try to keep the regulars happy.
