Dilip Watch Co

Dilip Watch Co is over at 625 Vidhyadhar Ka Rasta, near the Jaipur G P O. It’s a busy spot because of the post office nearby. People are always coming and going with parcels and letters. My shop is a quiet little corner where I deal with watches. I’ve lived in Jaipur all my life, so being near the G P O feels right. The shop is filled with the smell of light oil and old metal. I’ve got a display case with a few watches for sale, but most of my work is fixing what people already own. I don’t like overcomplicating things. If a battery is dead, I change it. If a gear is stripped, I see if I can find a spare. The street outside is full of noise, but I keep my head down and focus on the task at hand. It takes a steady hand to work on these things, especially the smaller ladies' watches. I’ve had some customers who have been coming to me since they were kids. Now they bring their own children’s watches to be sized. It’s a nice feeling to be a part of the neighborhood like that. The shop isn't shiny or new. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the work I do is what matters. I’ll be here at 625 as long as people still have watches that need a little help. It’s a good way to stay connected to the city.
