Daulat Kirana Store

Shop 198 in Chand Bihari Nagar has been our spot for quite some time now. You’ll find us right on the Main Road in Khatipura, which stays pretty busy most of the day. Jaipur heat is no joke, so we usually have the fan going while we wait for customers. We sell the usual stuff you’d expect at a kirana store like pulses, spices, and tea leaves. It’s a small space, so things are piled up high, but I know where every single packet is kept. Sometimes I have my nephew helping out when school is closed. We aren’t one of those big malls; it’s just a regular shop where people from around here come to get their daily supplies. Most of the folks walking in are neighbors we’ve known for years. They come in for a kilo of flour or some biscuits for their kids. We try to open up early enough for the office crowd and stay until things quiet down at night. It’s a lot of sitting and lifting heavy sacks, but that is the work. The traffic outside can get loud, but you get used to it. We keep a simple notebook for the regular accounts. It’s just how things have always run here at Daulat Kirana Store. No big signs or anything, just us. It is a simple life and we are just trying to keep the kitchen staples ready for everyone who lives nearby.
