Craft Cave

Our shop, Craft Cave, is tucked away at 7 K 4 in Jawahar Nagar, Jaipur. Jaipur is a city full of history and art, so we wanted to have our own small corner to work on things. We are not located on a main road with a big neon sign out front. You actually have to look for us a bit to find the entrance. Inside, the place is usually a bit of a mess with all the supplies, beads, and various tools scattered around the tables. We think that is just how a real craft place should look, though. We spend our days making things by hand and sometimes we show others how to do it too. It is not a high-pressure kind of business. We take our time with the things we make. The neighborhood around Jawahar Nagar is mostly families and other small shops, so it feels very local and friendly. We do not have a polished website or a team of people to handle our social media. We just open the doors in the morning and see who happens to come in. Sometimes we spend hours just trying to get a single piece of work to look right. We drink a lot of chai and spend time talking to the people who live nearby. It is a slow kind of work, but we enjoy the pace. There is no big goal other than making things and keeping the shop open.
