Chunri Craft

Tilak Nagar is a nice area and we are over on Vidhyalaya Marg at A- 41. It is a bit quieter than the main markets which is good for us. We work with chunris and different types of prints. There is usually a lot of color around the place because of the dyes we use. Sometimes the smell of the wet fabric is quite strong in the mornings. We have been at this address for a decent amount of time now. The yard gets messy when we have a lot of orders to dry out in the sun. If it rains we have to run out and grab everything quickly. It is just me and a few others mostly. We don't do anything too fancy, just the traditional styles people ask for. The street outside has some trees and people walking to the school nearby. We know the neighbors pretty well by now. We spend the afternoon folding things and making sure the edges are right. It is not a big corporate office or anything. It is just a workspace where we get things done. Some days are faster than others depending on how the materials arrive. We just take it as it comes and try to keep the colors bright. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. There is always a lot of fabric to sort through and keep organized in the back room so we don't mix up the batches.
