Chaudhary Kirana & General Store

Our shop is located right at Vatika Mode in Sanganer, which is a busy part of the Jaipur district. Being on Tonk Road means there is never a quiet moment. We see all kinds of people coming through, mostly locals who live around here. Chaudhary Kirana & General Store has been our life for a long time. The shelves are filled with sacks of flour, pulses, and bottles of oil. It gets quite crowded in the mornings when the milk arrives. I usually start the day by sweeping the front and checking what ran out yesterday. Sanganer is growing fast, and more houses are coming up, so we stay busy. We have the usual things like biscuits, spices, and cleaning stuff. The fan inside the shop hums all day, but it barely helps when the Rajasthan sun is peaking. Customers come in and ask for things by name, and I usually know exactly which corner of the shelf it is hidden in. There is no fancy sign or anything, just the name on the board. Sometimes the kids from the nearby school come in for a single chocolate or a pencil. It is a simple way to earn a living, just keeping the pantry items ready for the neighborhood. Dealing with suppliers takes up some of my time, but mostly I am just here waiting for the next person to walk in.
