We are located at 9B in Deepak Colony, which is over in the Sheopur area of Pratap Nagar here in Jaipur. Chalsi Agri Seed is a pretty quiet operation. We mostly deal with the seeds that farmers need for their next season. The colony is a regular residential kind of place, so our office fits right in without standing out too much. Inside, it is mostly just bags of seeds and shelves full of records. We don't have a marketing department or a sales team in suits. If you come by, you will likely find one of us sitting at a wooden desk just trying to keep the inventory straight. Seed business is all about timing. If you miss the window for planting, you are in trouble, so we spend a lot of our time worrying about the calendar and the weather reports. Jaipur can get incredibly hot, and keeping the seeds in good condition takes some effort. We talk to a lot of people from the surrounding villages who come into the city for supplies. It is a lot of handshakes and talking about how the last harvest went. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide the right seeds to the people who know how to use them. It is simple, honest work that keeps us connected to the ground.
